Many sectors in Switzerland are facing labor shortages. While the country’s economy remains dynamic and the unemployment rate relatively low, some industries are struggling significantly to recruit.

The healthcare, industrial and construction sectors, as well as many skilled trades, are finding it difficult to attract new talent. This situation represents a major challenge for companies and HR departments, which need to step up their recruitment efforts.

Other challenges also come into play, such as gender inequalities in certain professions and misconceptions that continue to discourage many potential candidates. Many occupations suffer from a lack of visibility among the general public, even though they offer genuine employment and career opportunities.

The real challenge, therefore, is to make these professions better known. More modern communication, more authentic and better adapted to the expectations of Generation Z and young professionals can help change perceptions and generate greater interest.

Promoting in-demand professions, highlighting their opportunities and demonstrating their concrete impact on society is now an essential lever for attracting tomorrow’s talent and sustainably addressing the needs of the labor market.

To better promote in-demand professions, companies need to change their image and communicate more effectively about the realities and opportunities they offer.
